That’s a bit of a mouthful, so we’ll just call it the E 15. The E15 has some great specs, particularly for its price. We’ll sum up its advantages and disadvantages here.

The E 15 has a very decent graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2GB VRAM will allow you to play a number of games, such as Dota 2 and League of Legends very well.

The processor is a 6th Generation Intel Core i5-6500U that generates 2.5GHz. Easily powerful enough to play most games on at least minimum settings.

At 1920×1080 the display resolution is pretty nice and well above our minimum requirements.

8GB of RAM for a laptop at this price is magnificent and will help to make your overall playing experience so much better.

The E 15 has a relatively small Hard Drive, which is only a 256GB SSD, this isn’t the end of the world, particularly if you don’t play that many games, but it is something to consider.

Screen size is 15.6 inches. There will be plenty of gamers (myself included) that aren’t bothered by this at all. But gamers who really enjoy immersing themselves in their games might be better off with a larger screen.

Specifications
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6500U
  • Memory: 8GB DDR4
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce 940MX
  • Screen: 15.6-inch
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
Pros
  • Good performance for the price
  • SSD hard drive
  • Quality build
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Uncomfortable keyboard
  • Little bit heavy
  • Touchpad feels flimsy

Acer Aspire V3-572G-54S6 Gaming Laptop – 15.6″ WLED Backlit Screen

Another offering from Acer, the V3 offers some great specs but in my opinion, doesn’t stack up as well as the E 15.

At 1 TB the V3 has a big Hard Drive, almost four times larger than the E 15, so if you wanted to keep a lot of games on your laptop, or you were planning to use it for other things besides gaming, then it might be a good purchase.

The V3 has a nice graphics card, another 2GB NVIDIA, this time a GeForce GT 840M, this is sufficient for most games.

This laptop has 8GB of RAM, the same as the E 15, as mentioned before this is really good, particularly for the price bracket we’re talking about.

The V3 has a 4th Generation i5-4210U processor which produces 1.7GHz, although this will still be sufficient for plenty of games, it is likely that it won’t work as well for more modern or demanding ones. This processor is a step down from the E 15’s i7.

The resolution of the V3 is just 1366×768. This is considerably less than a lot of other gaming models including the E 15. It is likely that if you were to put the two laptops together while playing, that you would notice a fairly significant screen resolution difference.

Again the screen size of 15.6 inches is on the smaller end.

Specifications
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4210U
  • Memory: 8GB DDR3
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce 840M
  • Screen: 15.6-inch
  • Resolution: 1366 x 768
  • Storage: 1TB 5400rpm HDD
  • OS: Windows 8.1
Pros
  • Good performance for the price
  • A lot of storage
  • Easy to travel with
  • Great speakers for a laptop
Cons
  • Kind of expensive
  • Low resolution
  • Low battery life

This is another laptop from the Acer range, the first thing that really struck me about it is the value for money, you can typically pick this laptop up for around $100 less than the other options in this range, depending of course upon the offers.

Excellent value for money. If you’re short on cash and want a cheaper laptop, you can game on. You really couldn’t do a lot better than the E5. It isn’t as powerful as the E 15, but it actually does provide phenomenal value given its price.

Like the V3 the E5 has 1 TB Hard Drive, this offers much more storage space than the E 15.

The E5 has a NVIDIA GeForce 940M 2GB VRAM graphics processor. This is on par with the E 15 in terms of spec and slightly better than the V3.

You get a very nice 8GB of RAM with this model.Good 1920×1080 resolution.

The E5’s processor is an i5-50002U, producing 2.2GHz. This makes it better than the V3’s processor, but it isn’t an i7 like the E15. This means that you’ll probably have to turn down the settings if you’re planning on playing some games with higher system requirements.

If I had to list another con I would say possibly the screen size, which is just 15.6. But really for its price the E5 offers incredible value. All I would say is to make sure before you buy that the E5’s processor is powerful enough for the games you want to play. Even though the E 15 is the overall better machine, the E5 is very difficult to find fault with.

Specifications
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-5200U
  • Memory: 8GB DDR3
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce 940M
  • Screen: 15.6-inch
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080
  • Storage: 1 TB 5400 rpm
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
Pros
  • Impressive build for the price
  • Huge hard drive
  • Good screen size
  • High resolution for the price
Cons
  • No SSD
  • Not the best speakers
  • Short battery life

Acer Aspire E 15 15.6″ Full HD Gaming Laptop

This is a newly configured gaming laptop sold by Henry Computer, it is an incredibly powerful machine and offers great value for money.

The first thing you’ll notice about this model is the phenomenal amount of RAM. 16GB is fantastic for a model in this price range and will allow much higher spec gaming than you would normally get in this class. You can play games like Overwatch, Fallout 4 and League of Legends with no fall in frame rate whatsoever.

Like the E5 and the V3, this model offers 1 TB Hard Drive. You can store far more games on here than you’d be able to with an E15.

Boasts an excellent 2 GB Nvidia 940MX Graphics Processor, this makes its graphics just as good as the E15.

The processor is a 6th Generation Intel Core i5-6200U Processor 2.3GHz that can be boosted up to 2.8GHz. While this is an excellent processor, it’s not quite as good as the E15’s i7 processor. However, the RAM probably more than makes up for it.

Again screen size at 15.6 inches might bother some, but there really is very little to complain about with this model.

Specifications
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6200U
  • Memory: 16GB DDR4
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce 940MX
  • Screen: 15.6-inch
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080
  • Storage: 1 TB 5400 rpm
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
Pros
  • Amazing specs for the price
  • A lot of storage place
  • Great keyboard
  • Good amount of memory
Cons
  • No SSD
  • Little bit heavy
  • Short battery life

ASUS 15.6″ Full HD Flagship High-Performance Gaming Laptop

This is another specifically designed gaming laptop, produced this time by ASUS.

Very nice NVIDIA GeForce 940M 2GB graphics processor. This is as good as any model so far listed in this class and provides excellent graphical capabilities.

1 TB Hard Drive is again very considerable for this class. 8GB of RAM is excellent.

The ASUS comes with an Intel Core i5 6200U producing 2.3 GHz. As stated before this is not bad given the price range that we’re talking about but it isn’t as good as an i7, and you are likely to struggle to play really high-end games on this machine. At least at the ideal settings.

As with all of the laptops listed in this class the ASUS has a relatively modest screen size of 15.6 inches.

Specifications
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 6200U
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce 940M
  • Screen: 15.6-inch
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080
  • Storage: 1 TB Hard Drive
  • OS: Windows 10 Home
Pros
  • Amazing specs for the price
  • A lot of storage room
  • Light weight
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • No SSD
  • Cramped up keyboard
  • Average battery life

Conclusion

As you may have seen the laptops in our list don’t cost a fortune, in fact, these are even considered budget laptops. Budget does not mean these won’t offer you a good performance, sure they might not play the most recent games, but they can still play a lot of games.

I’d recommend these laptops for beginners or casual players, as you do not need to spend a fortune to play your favorite video games a couple of hours a week.
