best high end monitors

You can’t get better than this! Have you ever heard the expression size matter? Those screens will prove it to you! You will be blown away by 34 inches of greatness, a crisp 4K Resolution and refresh rate of around 100hz.

I will be honest, these monitors are not for casual gamers as they cost a little fortune, but if you got the budget to upgrade your monitor into one of these beasts, then you should do it. They offer the ultimate visual gaming experience.

We recommend before you make your purchase to know what graphic card you will use. If you have an ATI card look for a FreeSync Monitor otherwise if you have a Nvidia Graphic card look for a G-Sync Monitor.

Editor’s pick: Our big winner here is the Asus ROG PG348Q 34-Inch Ultra-wide QHD Swift Curved Gaming Monitor. First because of it’s amazing 34-inch ultra-wide curved screen and an incredible resolution of 3440 x 1440. Second, the specs on this monster are out of this world, yes it costs a lot, but you will be amazed by the visual experience it will offer.

ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q 34″ 3440×1440 IPS 100Hz G-SYNC Eye Care Gaming Monitor

This display from the Asus Republic of Gamers range is a monster. The PG348Q has a 34in diagonal and a 3,440 x 1,440 resolution, and the majority of these pixels are stretched around a curved IPS panel.

Nvidia G-Sync is present, too, alongside true 10-bit technology and flashing, customizable lights. This baby is crazy expensive, though, so Asus has a lot to prove with this one.

The 34in diagonal, 21:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio of the PG348Q will benefit most games.

You get greater peripheral vision during racing games and twitchy first-person shooters, plus the extra screen real-estate means strategy games and MOBAs are more accommodating.

The 3,440 x 1,440 resolution and broad screen mean the Asus delivers a pixel density of 110ppi. The 110ppi density isn’t quite as good as the majority of 4K panels, however.

While this means that games won’t be quite as crisp, there are advantages. The 4.9 million pixels used in the Asus panel won’t be as demanding on GPUs as the 8.2 million rendered on 4K screens, so there will be less need for stratospheric graphics cards.

With that said, if you’re buying a monitor this expensive, you probably have a fairly high-end PC gaming setup at home that’s well prepared for proper 4K gaming.

The display is one of the most interestingly designed monitors on the market. Its three wide legs and the broad, circular stand is finished in gunmetal gray, with burnt orange accents throughout, and the rear of the panel is finished in a futuristic pattern.

The PG348Q is one of the most feature-packed panels I’ve ever seen, and it’s one of the most crazy-looking, too.

Gaming at 4K often comes at the cost of smoothness, but Acer’s hoping to make that trade-off a thing of the past.

The company’s Predator XB321HK gaming monitor backs up its ultra-HD resolution with Nvidia G-Sync technology, allowing you to play your 4K games without worrying about stutters or screen tears. Naturally, that premium experience comes at a premium price.

While it’s not for everyone, the Predator XB321HK’s gorgeous picture quality and handy feature-set offer a lot to love for those who play on high-end, Nvidia-powered PCs.

The Predator sticks to the essentials, offering HDMI and DisplayPort connections (you’ll need the latter for G-Sync).

There are two USB 3.0 ports on the left edge for quickly plugging in your peripherals, as well as an additional two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 3.0 Type B port in the back.

The Predator XB321HK supports Nvidia G-Sync, which syncs your monitor to your graphics card for extra-smooth performance. Acer’s monitor also fared well regarding color, with a Delta-E color accuracy score of 2.64 (closer to zero is better).

The XB321HK reproduced a healthy 108 percent of the sRGB color gamut. Other features include an on-screen refresh-rate ticker, as well as a black enhancer, which lets you lighten dark areas of the game, allowing to find those hiding enemies a whole lot easier.

Overall, if you game on an Nvidia card and are looking for the smoothest, biggest 4K monitor out there, the Predator is well worth the price.

Acer Predator 34-inch Curved UltraWide QHD Widescreen Display

Acer has gotten back into gaming in a big way with a whole new Predator line of laptops, desktop and now gaming monitors. The Predator X34 is a curved, ultra-wide gaming monitor that boasts a quad high-definition resolution of 3,440 x 1,440.

This beautiful 21:9 screen also incorporates Nvidia’s G-Sync technology to smooth out any errant graphical glitches. Throw in the fact that Acer has used an IPS panel, and the X34 sounds like it should be the ultimate display for gamers and media makers.

As a curved gaming monitor, the Acer Predator X34 sports an aggressive styling without being obnoxious. The bezels around the display have been reduced to a mere centimeter, and even the largest one, along with the bottom, only measures an inch thick.

Not that it matters, because you’ll be mainly focusing on all those pixels filling your field of vision.
Between the quad high-definition resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, gentle curvature and G-Sync technology, the Acer Predator X34 doesn’t lack in tech features.

However, underneath all these headlining features is a genuinely beautiful IPS panel.

For such an impressive display, the Predator X34 doesn’t come with a ton of inputs. On hand you’ll have a DisplayPort and HDMI … and that’s it – save for a USB 3.0 hub.

This leaves you with only enough ports to hook up one PC and maybe a set-top box for watching movies and TV.

The Acer Predator X34 is an impressive display to be sure. The spanning ultra-wide monitor offers impeccable color accuracy and a contrast-rich picture to boot.

Coupled with the quad high-definition resolution and G-Sync technology, the curved screen elevates gaming to a higher level of immersion that’s the next best thing to wearing a VR headset – minus the 3D effect and head tracking, of course.

That said, you’re certainly going to pay a pretty penny for this display.

LG 34UC98-W 34-Inch 21:9 Curved Ultra-Wide QHD IPS Monitor

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the 2017-08-20 at 13:19 and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.

The 34UC98-W is a beautifully designed monitor, but wow, is it expensive. Its 34-inch IPS panel has a 3,440-by-1,440 resolution, a matte, anti-glare coating, and a 300-nit brightness level.

It’s housed in a white cabinet that features a zero-bezel design and is supported by a curved brushed-metal stand with a telescoping arm that offers height and tilt adjustments. The panel has a 1,900R curvature ratio.

The rear of the cabinet holds an excellent selection of I/O ports, all of which face outward. Here, you’ll find two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two USB 3.0 downstream ports (one with USB Quick Charge), two Thunderbolt 2 ports, a DisplayPort input, and a headphone jack.

The 34UC98-W is equipped with two 7-watt speakers that are loud and provide clear audio, with a decent amount of bass and no distortion.

With the LG 34UC98-W, you get solid gaming performance and a sharp, highly detailed picture on a spacious 34-inch, widescreen panel.

Its 1,900R curvature ratio puts you a bit closer to the action than other curved big-screen monitors that we’ve reviewed, and it offers a nice feature set that includes the latest I/O ports, a height-adjustable stand, FreeSync technology, and powerful speakers.

That said, you may have to utilize the advanced color settings, as our testing showed reds and greens were slightly misaligned.

If you can live without Thunderbolt ports, the identically sized and previously reviewed Acer Predator X34 offers extremely accurate colors out of the box, as well as Nvidia’s G-Sync technology and lots of gamer-friendly features, for just $100 more.

Specifications
  • Resolution: 3440 x 1440
  • Size: 34 Inch
  • Response: 5MS
  • Panel: IPS
  • Refresh: 60Hz
Pros
  • Sleek, modern design
  • Tons of features

Dell UltraSharp 4k UP3216Q 31.5″ Screen LCD Monitor

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the 2017-08-20 at 13:19 and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.

The Dell UP3216Q is an ultra-high resolution 32-inch monitor that packs in an astonishing 3840 x 2160 pixels – that’s 4K resolution. It also has 99% AdobeRGB color coverage, making it perhaps the ultimate professional photographer or videographer’s monitor.

Along with those impressive imaging credentials, it also sports a stylish and slim design, toughened glass front and Harman-Kardon speakers for a complete all-in-one desk solution.

The star of the show here is, of course, the 4K resolution, which requires the use of two DisplayPort cables to receive that many pixels from your graphics card.

That’s it for your video connection options, though – you can’t plug in your Xbox One or Sky box, which is a bit of a shame.

However, you do get four USB 3.0 ports, giving you potentially far fewer cables running from your computer to your desk. None of them are conveniently located on the edges, though, so plugging in something temporary such as a USB stick or colorimeter is no quick and easy task.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of this monitor is that it includes speakers, which is something of a rarity for more professional models.

The Dell UP3216Q is certainly pricey, but it justifies the cost by being excellent in just about every way. If you’re looking for a truly professional-quality ultra-high resolution monitor for gaming, then there are few better options.

Specifications
  • Resolution: 3840 x 2160
  • Size: 32 Inch
  • Response: 6MS
  • Panel: IPS
  • Refresh: 60Hz
Pros
  • Incredible 4K resolution
  • Amazing image quality
  • Adjustable stand
  • Decent built-in speakers
Cons
  • Screen is too glossy
  • Windows sometimes can’t display 4K resolution
